In addition to the official delegation with the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Jeannetta Sosin as well as Councillor Jeanette Potter und Councillor Roy Whitehead, and representatives of the Chelmsford Twinning Partnership, Gloria Nicolls and Maragret Campell, cultural ambassadors from Chelmsford also attended this year's street festival. The two artists Jennifer Flint and Tamara Eden created murals with children as part of the children's programme in the courtyard behind the collegiate church.
The motif of both paintings symbolises the partnership between the two cities, which is about building bridges and making friends. The murals will be donated to the two hospices, Pusteblume and Sternentraum. After an official handover, the works will be used to promote the partnership in the Backnanger hospices.
On Friday evening, the band Electronique got the audience on stage at Biegel singing and dancing along to music from the 80s. As the band was performing at the street festival for the second time, some listeners were already familiar with them and were looking forward to seeing them again.
Apart from the official receptions hosted by the town of Backnang, there were also relaxed, personal encounters at events organised by the association, the get-together at the Bandhaus Theater, the barbecue in Betty and Philip's garden and the visit to the Waldheim on Sunday evening, which the band used for a short a cappella interlude.
